CHANTILLY, Va. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Insider Spyder, Inc., a provider of cyber security software, has acquired the exclusive rights from The MITRE Corporation to commercialize and market ELICIT, a system that detects insider theft of information. Insider Spyder™ software uses advanced behavioral analytics to identify network users who are misusing confidential or classified information.
“With billions of dollars’ worth of intellectual property being stolen by insiders, such as product designs, customer lists or HR records, security teams need more effective and efficient software tools to do their jobs,” said Greg Cullison, Chief Strategy Officer of Insider Spyder. “There is growing need in government agencies and commercial enterprises to detect rogue insiders, who are particularly elusive because they appear to be acting normally.”
Based on MITRE’s tested research approach, Insider Spyder is developing a robust software platform that uses sophisticated algorithms to detect insider threats.
“MITRE is committed to serving our sponsors and creating value for the country by getting our prototypes into the hands of commercial companies that can develop cost-effective solutions and bring products to market,” said Barry Costa, director of MITRE’s Technology Transfer Office. “We are pleased that Insider Spyder will make ELICIT more broadly available and increase the effectiveness of cyber security solutions.”
