LOS ANGELES -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- With an eye toward enabling small and midsize businesses to maximize uptime and overall compute performance, Infinitely Virtual, a leading provider of Cloud Server computing services, today announced that it has expanded its portfolio of vShield Network Appliances.
The new vShield options are part of VMware’s recent vShield Manager upgrade. Infinitely Virtual has rolled out larger and clustered Self-Managed Firewall Options with multi-interface support and enhanced load-balancing features. Small and midsize businesses have a choice of four options -- Compact, Compact Clustered, Large, and Large Clustered – depending on the level of performance they need.
Previously, vShield came in only one size – small. VMware has made it possible to both increase the size of vShield appliances and aggregate the vShield appliances in active and passive clusters. Businesses using Infinitely Virtual’s vShield product can now have a clustered product that is self-managed – that is, they can configure it themselves.
“When looking for a simple solution that enables stunningly fast performance and minimizes downtime, our new vShield options get it done,” said Adam Stern, founder and CEO, Infinitely Virtual. Bronze vShield firewalls are included with all of the company’s Virtual Terminal Server, Virtual Office Network and Dedicated Exchange Hosting plans. They are also available as an upgrade to Cloud Server Hosting Plans.
VMware vShield Gold and Diamond+ plans are available clustered and unclustered – Gold, at $29.99 per month, Diamond+ at $199.99 monthly. Both deliver firewall throughput of 9.7 Gbps, supporting one million concurrent sessions and 50,000 new sessions per second. Both plans include 2 CPU cores and 4GB of disk space. Gold plans start with 1GB of RAM; Diamond+ plans bump the RAM up to 8GB.
“Today, it’s not enough simply to have fast virtual servers,” Stern said. “Businesses need features like exceptionally fast connectivity between subnets, firewall clustering lightning load-balancing performance, SSL VPN security or WAN acceleration. That’s where our expanded vShield network appliance hosting plans fit within existing environments -- and they make a difference almost immediately.”
