ORANGEBURG, NY -- (Marketwired) -- 12/20/13 -- DHS Technologies LLC ("DHS" or the "Company) today announced the appointment of Samuel R. Marrone as its President and Chief Executive effective January 1, 2014. A. Jon Prusmack, Founder and outgoing President and CEO, will remain heavily involved with the Company as Executive Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors, Director and a significant shareholder.

Mr. Kanders added, "Sam has been Jon's partner at DHS as Chief Operating Officer since 2004 and as such understands the intricacies, challenges and opportunities ahead of the Company. Mr. Marrone has had a distinguished career of more than 33 years in the financial services industry. Prior to joining DHS, Mr. Marrone served in an executive management capacity at financial services companies including Kidder Peabody, Barclays Bank and ABN AMRO Incorporated. Mr. Marrone started his career at Electronic Data Systems after serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. He holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering from the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland.
In addition to Mr. Marrone's appointment, Nelson Weinstein, who has served as Chief Accounting Officer since 2005, has been named the Company's Chief Financial Officer. Finally, in connection with the retirement of Jerry McAbee as the VP and General Manager of the Company's Huntsville, AL facility, the Company announced the appointment of Marcel Branis as VP, Manufacturing Operations and of Phil Yff as VP, Operations Support.

Mr. Weinstein brings 25 years of experience in senior accounting and financial positions to the Company. Prior to joining DHS, Mr. Weinstein operated his own consultancy offering senior level financial and operational advice to companies of varying sizes in a variety of industries. From 1991-2001, Mr. Weinstein served as CFO and COO of Milton Merl & Associates, Inc., a point-of-purchase design and consulting company. Mr. Weinstein has a Bachelor of Science degree from New York University. He had previously been appointed as an arbitrator by the NASD, NYSE and American Arbitration Association (the function for which is now handled by FINRA), and Mr. Weinstein also served on the Board of Economic Incentives for Rockland County, NY from 2006 until 2010.
