SAN ANTONIO, Dec. 27, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- When it comes to interior space and seating capacity, two of the largest offerings from Honda are the Odyssey and the Pilot. As they are exceptionally spacious, both are great vehicles for families, but as one vehicle is a minivan and the other is an SUV, the set of needs that they suit is completely different.
To help consumers decipher the differences between the models, San Antonio-based dealership Benson Honda has implemented an informative Web page that compares the 2014 Honda Odyssey vs 2014 Honda Pilot. The page is part of a larger series of 2014 model comparison pages that includes a wide variety of other in-brand and competitor comparisons.
The Benson Honda comparison found that when it comes to the equipment under the hood of both the Odyssey and the Pilot, the vehicles are quite similar. Both are capable of achieving nearly identical combined fuel economy ratings which come from the same 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine.
The impressive ratings are achieved by the use of a cylinder management system that is able to deactivate up to three cylinders when the added power is not completely necessary. When the engines are firing on all cylinders, however, both the Odyssey and Pilot are capable of producing an output of roughly 250 horsepower.
As the vehicles are in completely separate classes, their interiors are quite different. As a minivan, the maximum cargo volume of the Odyssey is significantly larger. However, the Pilot also has benefits of its own. The SUV provides seats for eight passengers while the Odyssey only has enough for seven.
The 2014 Honda Odyssey and the 2014 Honda Pilot are both exceptional vehicles, and while they have their similarities, they ultimately cater to two completely different groups of consumers. Those interested in finding out the highlights of each model are encouraged to visit the Benson Honda website at www.bensonhonda.com for the full comparison.
