DENVER, Jan. 22, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- Denver based business YouTix Live announced today that they will be launching their new application and Roku channel featuring live events in the Spring of 2014. The launch of YouTix Live comes as a welcome addition for consumers who are thinking of "cutting the cord" to cable and satellite TV providers or already have cut the cord.
A recent study conducted by Ericsson ConsumerLab shows that 25% of consumers reduced or eliminated their traditional television programming packages in 2013. The same study also shows that 72% of consumers use mobile devices for viewing video content, while 42% of them do so outside the home.
According to Katie Melvin, co-founder of YouTix Live, "Consumers are already enjoying a variety of alternatives to traditional television viewing, but one thing I struggle with is viewing pay-per-view events outside of the cable and dish lifestyle."
YouTix Live intends to solve this problem by bringing users live content from all genres and from all over the world creating an alternative to pay-per-view purchasing via traditional content providers. The content will be available with a subscription or purchase by a la carte.
A campaign to raise money to help fund this project has been launched on Indiegogo.com and Rockethub.com, two of the most popular crowdfunding platforms used by many successful start-up companies. To find out more and contribute, visit the campaigns by clicking Here.
YouTix Live also anticipates officially announcing their First Annual YouTix Live Film Festival for film students in the coming weeks.
