Katy Perry is known as one of the top artists in the music business and one that spares no expense and goes to any length to ensure her shows leave everyone in attendance happy. That was the case with her "California Dreams Tour," which finished in 2012 with 124 dates spread across North America, South America, Europe, Asia and Australasia. She is hoping her 2014 world tour, dubbed "PRISMATIC" will be as successful for her. She is beginning the world tour with international dates before heading to the United States in June. On July 22, Perry and opening act Capital Cities will travel to the CONSOL Energy Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Perry is one of the most decorated musicians of this generation and of all time. She has the third most digital singles sales of any artist not named Rihanna or Lady Gaga and has sold more than 12 million records worldwide. Her first major label release, One of the Boys, sold more than five million copies due in large part to the success of her breakout track, "I Kissed a Girl." Her follow up album, Teenage Dream, sold more than six million copies worldwide, which is in large part to the six No. 1 singles that came off it. Among the hits she released from that album were songs with hip hop royalty, "California Gurls," featuring Snoop Dogg and "E.T." featuring Kanye West.

The "PRISMATIC" world tour is being held in support of Perry's fourth career record, Prism. Prism was released in October 2013 and has already sold more than one million copies in the United States alone. The album was first on the Billboard Hot 200 chart in its debut week and has been a steady force in the top 10 ever since.

During this tour, Perry will get opening help from three different acts, but it will be Capital Cities, the men behind the hit song, "Safe and Sound," that will getting fans ready for a great show. The group formed in 2008 and while they initially released that song in 2011, didn't break out until the song became an overnight sensation in 2013.

Capital Cities and Perry will be playing in front of a packed house of more than 15,000 fans when they head to the CONSOL Energy Center. The arena is the home of the Pittsburgh Penguins of the National Hockey League and has seen many artists from George Strait to Lady Gaga hold shows here.
