THE WOODLANDS, Texas -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- MolecularHealth announced today the addition of two key members of its U.S. executive team in the areas of finance and IT. Both executives have spent most of their careers working in oncology and drug discovery and bring decades of experience in their respective areas of expertise. MolecularHealth continues to build its workforce as it moves toward the launch of TreatmentMAP™, its cancer treatment decision support offering, in the first quarter of this year.
Tim Cooley will serve as senior vice president of IT for MolecularHealth, working to put the systems and talent in place to manage the huge volume of data that the company will generate through its advanced analytics. Cooley has more than 20 years of experience in applying information technology for life sciences companies, with a unique background that combines business, science and IT. Most notably, he spent 15 years with Eli Lilly Corporation, where he held several roles, including director of IT at the Lilly Singapore Center for Drug Discovery. Cooley received a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from Texas A&M University and studied human genetics and biochemistry at Johns Hopkins.
“We’re at an extremely exciting time at the crossroads of technology and science,” said Cooley. “At the end of the day, molecular diagnostics is an information business that relies on technology to harness data and deliver a product that meets both providers’ and patients’ needs. I’m looking forward to working with the MolecularHealth bioinformatics team as we offer this service to pathologists and oncologists.”
Kevin Krenzke joins MolecularHealth as senior vice president of finance, where he will focus on building a scalable financial infrastructure for the company to support the expected rapid growth following commercial launch in early 2014. Krenzke has more than 17 years of finance and accounting experience, largely focused on specialty healthcare and oncology. His experience includes serving as the chief financial officer for one of the nation’s largest oncology practices, as well as financial, operating and strategy roles with McKesson Specialty Health and US Oncology. He is a certified public accountant and earned his Bachelor of Business Administration and Master in Professional Accounting degrees from the University of Texas at Austin.
“After spending many years working in the oncology space, I understand the challenges in increasing both the quality and efficiency of care,” said Krenzke. “MolecularHealth offers a unique solution with the potential to improve patient outcomes while reducing adverse events and ineffective utilization of healthcare resources. I am happy to have the chance to work closely with the executive team to support the launch and market adoption of its services.”
“As we get closer to launching TreatmentMAP, we’re focused on putting some crucial pieces into place, which includes our financial and IT systems,” said Lloyd Everson, Ph.D., CEO of MolecularHealth. “Kevin and Tim bring strong backgrounds not only in their own areas of expertise, but in applying their skills specifically to companies in the life sciences arena. They’ll both be great assets to our already strong executive team in Germany and the United States.”
