The Connexall patient queuing application simplifies patient check-in by utilizing self-service kiosks and automated ticketing to direct patients to the proper station at the appropriate time. The system provides an effective way to remove patient uncertainty and eliminate bottlenecks in registration areas while consolidating the workflow processes for hospital receptionists and registrars.
Upon selecting a service category from a kiosk-mounted touch screen, the patient will receive a ticket printed with a unique number for that category of service. When it is time to be seen, the ticket number will be shown on a marquee display in the waiting area along with the desk to which the patient should report.
Should the wait time exceed a predetermined and configurable maximum length, a manager will be notified via wireless device, desktop PC or email to determine if additional booths are required to be opened to accommodate the current patient queue. Not only does this reduce patient wait times and crowding, but it will help staff to focus on the essential parts of the patient registration processes – efficient process and satisfied patients and staff.
