NEW YORK, March 13, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- ZNAP((TM)) announced today that the New York Sound City conference and music festival on March 17(th) in Williamsburg, Brooklyn will be the first U.S. event to feature ZNAP((TM))'s NFC (near field communication) payment technology. During the event, ZNAP((TM)) will unveil its NFC features to attendees, who will be the first consumers to test its tap-and-pay capabilities.
"With the popularity of music festivals and other large-scale live events, this industry has a tremendous opportunity to grow audiences by delivering an outstanding customer experience," said Greg Gresh, CEO ZNAP(TM) North America, "The tap-and-pay feature that ZNAP((TM) )will showcase at New York Sound City eliminates the need for event attendees to carry cash or plastic. It speeds up and simplifies the purchase process, allowing guests to 'go wallet-less' and focus their attention on performances and activities without missing a beat."
Upon check-in at the Hotel Wythe, New York Sound City attendees can download the ZNAP((TM)) app from their favorite app store, create a ZNAP((TM)) account and pair their wristbands with the app. Next, guests tap their wristbands on an NFC pad to "purchase" and receive a $25 Best Buy gift card, courtesy of ZNAP((TM)). The NFC wristband is accessed and controlled by the ZNAP(TM) mobile app: users can define purchase limits, review transactions, un-pair a lost wristband and re-pair a new one, and manage security.
In addition to facilitating mobile transactions, the ZNAP((TM) )app enables consumers to manage loyalty points, rewards programs, coupons and special offers using their mobile devices. Promoters can activate capabilities designed specifically for festivals and live events, including:
-- controlling access to the venue and VIP areas; -- delivering and tracking promotions and special offers; -- leveraging opportunities for cross-selling and upselling; -- enhancing transaction security to reduce fraud and data theft; -- and enabling anytime, anywhere check-out on portable point-of-sale devices.
"ZNAP((TM) )introduces consumers and merchants to the concept of omni-commerce - a simple and seamless purchasing experience that can take place over any channel (or combination of channels): online, in-store, face-to-face, or mobile," added Gresh. "We are excited to partner with Sound City New York and look forward to introducing ZNAP((TM)) to their community of music lovers on March 17th, as well as collaborating with Sound City Liverpool on May twentieth."
