Northern Virginia Technology Council Announces Destination Innovation Award Winners

HERNDON, Va., April 3, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- On Wednesday, April 2 at The Washington Post headquarters in downtown D.C., the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) recognized innovative technology companies and products at Destination Innovation. Presented by the NVTC Technology Innovations Committee, in partnership with Capital Business, the event highlighted technology advancements emerging from the Greater Washington region through an exhibition, networking, industry speakers and innovation pitches.

Over four weeks in February and March, 29 companies competed for online votes on the Capital Business website in round one of the competition. After more than 75,000 total votes, the top four companies in each of four categories were selected to exhibit and compete at the event. During round two of the competition, companies gave two minute pitches about their technology at the event and audience votes determined two finalists in each category, who then competed head-to-head answering questions from a panel of judges in the competition's final round.

In addition to company presentations, the event included remarks from former HP CEO Carly Fiorina and SocialRadar Founder and CEO Michael Chasen.

Final round judges for the competition were Fairfax County Economic Development Authority President and CEO Gerald Gordon, 410 Labs President and Co-Founder Matthew Koll and Binary Group Founder and CEO Rose Wang.
