BOSTON -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- OCEG has invited governance, risk and compliance (GRC) experts from MEGA, STA Group and Wolters Kluwer to speak to business strategists and GRC professionals at a webinar on April 24. They will discuss ‘GRC Architecture: The Value of Integrating Your GRC Practices into Everyday Business Operations’.

The speakers are:

  • Rick Winnik, director of Consulting, MEGA
  • Whynde Melaragno, practice director, Business Architecture, STA Group
  • George Nawara, global process design architect, IT Security and Operations, Wolters Kluwer

The three will discuss how a GRC architecture approach has helped companies achieve their business goals.

“A GRC architecture approach provides enterprise-wide visibility into the business so that capabilities, processes and resources can be better aligned with corporate objectives and strategies,” noted Melaragno.

“GRC practices should be delivering measurable value to organizations. They can only do this if companies establish their GRC programs to take strategy into account,” explained Winnik.

“Executives should be asking if their company’s GRC initiatives are actually driving business performance and if they are being used to plan and execute business transformations,” said Nawara.

Winnik works as a coach and mentor to large organizations to help them succeed in business transformations. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has authored several papers on enterprise governance issues, including enterprise architecture and GRC.

Melaragno works with Fortune 500 companies on building business architecture practices to solve business problems. She is a co-founder and board member of the Business Architecture Guild and also serves on the board of the Business Architects Association. She is the author of several papers on business architecture and teaches on behalf of the Business Architecture Institute.

Nawara works with companies on IT service management best practices from an ITIL/MOF/CobiT/CMMI framework perspective. He has specific expertise in service strategy and service design.

Winnik is co-chair of the OCEG GRC Architecture Working Group, which is developing a common body of knowledge around GRC Architecture and designing the components for a GRC Architect certification standard. Melaragno and Nawara are members of the group.

Registration is open for the online program, which will be at 2 pm EDT on April 24. The program is free and open to everyone. Attendees who are premium individual or enterprise members of OCEG or who have an OCEG All-Access Pass will receive a certificate of completion for this webcast indicating 1 hour of CPE.
