i>clicker Hires President, Now Available in Australia and New Zealand

NEW YORK -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- i>clicker, the leading Student Response Systems (SRS) in higher education and the makers of i>clicker +, i>clicker 2 and i>clicker GO, today announced that Kevin Pawsey has joined the company as president to support the company’s global growth. Effective immediately, i>clicker 2 and i>clicker GO systems are available for purchase in Australia, with only i>clicker GO available in New Zealand.

With student response technology adoption growing steadily in the region year after year, Australia and New Zealand are among the fastest adopting countries. With the company’s first international expansion, i>clicker sought an industry veteran with experience leading and growing education hardware and software businesses, as well as strong global experience. Pawsey, a two-time CEO, has over 20 years of management, director, and leadership experience in education internationally, making him an ideal fit for the position.

“i>clicker is one of the most impressive organizations I’ve encountered in my career, and I’m honored to be joining as president,” said Kevin Pawsey. “More than ever, instructors are looking for opportunities to make content and learning dynamic, creating opportunities to address misconceptions and check their understanding in real-time. Our business is about creating those opportunities in classrooms with conventional as well as digital remotes in a single flexible system that can support a standard or hybrid classroom solution.”

i>clicker now has a direct sales team that serves Australia and New Zealand. With the addition of a sales function in the region, i>clicker is exploring partnership opportunities with prospective channel partners in other parts of the world as well.

i>clicker has further plans to expand into other regions throughout 2014 and into 2015. Globally, educational institutions are choosing i>clicker because of the company’s focus on a hybrid solution that supports both conventional remotes as well as digital solutions. Not every student owns a smart device, and many higher education IT infrastructures cannot support a mobile-only solution. The combination gives schools, instructors and students freedom of choice in the classroom.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kevin to the team,” said Troy Williams, President of Macmillan New Ventures. “As we scale the company alongside the growth of student response system adoption worldwide and move into global markets, we’re focused on bringing in the best education technology talent to support our clients as they enhance student engagement and outcomes on their campus.”

Prior to joining i>clicker as president, Kevin was a senior business consultant to global software organizations and investment funds where he advised companies on transforming existing business models and structuring educational startups for growth and success. From 2011 to 2013, Kevin was president and CEO of itslearning, Inc. the US subsidiary of itslearning, a global LMS provider. In his role there, Kevin focused on building a strong US focused solution and team leading to year on year increase in customer acquisition and revenues. Before joining itslearning, Kevin was CEO of North American operations for RM Education, a leading UK-based education software and networks company.

Last summer, i>clicker became the leading Student Response System in North America. Furthermore, the company launched i>clicker GO, a software-based Student Response System (SRS) application that utilizes wireless (WiFi and mobile) networks to turn laptops, tablets and smartphones into classroom learning tools.
