BOSTON -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Cantina and Vista Higher Learning announce their Maestro Video Collaboration Tool has been chosen as a finalist in the Best Online Video Innovation category for the 2014 MITX What’s Next Awards. Maestro Video Collaboration is a key component of the new Partner Chat and Live Chat Tools integrated within the Vista Higher Learning Supersite, the company’s innovative learning management platform for world language.
Since 1996 the MITX Award shows have grown to become the largest and most prestigious awards competitions in the country for marketing innovations, celebrating the best creative and technological accomplishments emerging from New England.
“The finalists that emerged from an unprecedented number of submissions received for this year’s MITX What’s Next Awards demonstrate the creativity and innovation of our region’s rich digital ecosystem,” says MITX Board Member and Communispace COO, Howard Kogan, who serves as Chairman of the MITX What’s Next Awards Advisory Committee. “From startups to large corporations and everything in between, the individuals behind this work continue to raise the bar for the entire digital community.”
Demonstrating innovation in a language learning platform, Vista Higher Learning and Cantina worked to combine video, audio and text collaborative chat into one unique tool. This enables language learners to act out, increase practice and record real world scenarios in pairs. Additionally, teachers can review and grade recordings and well as deliver “classroom” instruction via video.
Tom Morse, VP of Technology Development at Vista Higher Learning says, “Cantina helped us envision what we needed then developed capabilities that our team can use to provide a language-lab style video environment for our customers. We really enjoy working with them.”
Cantina and Vista Higher Learning will be recognized at a gala awards ceremony attended by over 1,000 of the region’s top interactive marketing and technology professionals. Winners will be announced at Boston’s Westin Waterfront Hotel on May 29th. Tickets can be purchased at www.mitxawards.org/The-Ceremony.aspx.
