NYC Metro Region Overall Commercial Construction Activity Decreased (-7.38%) Year-Over-Year, BidClerk 1st Quarter 2014 Data Shows

CHICAGO -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- For New York City metro region, 1st quarter 2104 BidClerk data showed a decrease of (-7.38%) for new actively bid commercial construction projects, compared to the same period last year. The total contract value for the 1st quarter of 2014 is $8 billion, with an average contract value of $4.7 million. Overall, in the 1st quarter of 2014, BidClerk reported on more than 1,500 actively bidding opportunities in the NYC MSA.

One notable project that bid in the NYC MSA region in the 1st quarter of 2014 is the InterContinental New York Barclay Hotel renovations. (BidClerk job number 2734875.) The renovations are being done at a cost of $175 million. The construction manager is Tishman Construction (New York, NY). The architect is Stonehill & Taylor Architects (New York, NY).

Nationally, BidClerk reported on $130.3 billion in commercial construction contracts out-to-bid in the first quarter of 2014.
