SAN JOSE, CA -- (Marketwired) -- 05/15/14 -- Apigee® today announced that registration is now open for the second annual "I Love APIs" conference to be held Sept. 8-10, 2014 in San Francisco. Following Apigee's debut of the industry-defining event last year, this year's three-day conference is expected to draw 1,200 attendees, offering a hands-on Internet of Things (IoT) exhibit, double the session content, and a new Predictive Big Data track. As one of the industry's most comprehensive gatherings of digital leaders from across the globe, the "I Love APIs" conference will bring together CXOs, IT managers and developers for strategic and deeply technical discussions on how to build and accelerate digital business for today's app-centric, mobile world.
The conference will feature a large IoT exhibit, showcasing the game-changing solutions emerging in today's increasingly programmable world. There, attendees will gain an up-close look at how this latest trend is taking shape, with hands-on demonstrations by the innovators moving the IoT from buzzword to reality. Last year's "I Love APIs" IoT exhibit included a vehicle charged using renewable energy via SmartGrid APIs, programmable light bulbs, Google Glass-enabled medical equipment and drones.
The 2014 "I Love APIs" conference will also feature five jam-packed tracks comprised of both technical and business content, exploring the innovation and cutting-edge thinking that will define digital business for the next decade. Tracks will include Digital Transformation Strategy; APIs - Business at Digital Speed & Scale; Developers; Coders' Workshops and the new Predictive Apps and APIs track.
Led by Apigee executives and developers, Fortune 100 customers and digital thought leaders, sessions will cover topics such as:
"Last year's conference was a milestone for Apigee, gathering some of the brightest minds in the API and digital business ecosystems, from former CTO of the United States Aneesh Chopra to digital innovators from 7-Eleven, Accenture, Kaiser Permanente, and Walgreens. The response we received from our customers and attendees was overwhelmingly positive, and we've only set the bar even higher for this year's event," said Chet Kapoor, Apigee CEO. "Today, APIs and predictive big data analytics are critical for accelerating digital business in this fast-moving market. We hope to create a stimulating environment for digital innovators ranging from CXOs to architects to engineers to discuss how to harness digital technologies to dramatically improve digital experiences on any device."
Held at the historic Fort Mason in San Francisco, "I Love APIs" provides a unique setting with waterfront views and all-you-can-eat lunch catered by the Bay Area's most popular food trucks. Attendees will be able to network with the movers and shakers of today's digital world over cocktails and conversation at a welcome reception Sept. 8 and an evening party Sept. 9. Apigee is also offering a "Harvest Networking Lunch and Wine Tour" in Napa Valley Sept. 11 to help attendees get the full Northern California experience.
