GLENDALE, Ariz., May 23, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- By Allison Foster

Scott Tucker, a long-time Android developer, recently announced the upcoming release of his new mileage tracking app called "sMILES". The free Android app tracks jogging stats and connects users with a supportive community of fellow fitness enthusiasts. The app is scheduled for release on the Google Play app store in July. Tucker hopes that the app will attract users because of it's sleek and simple design.

Prior to developing sMILES, Scott Tucker developed several successful apps for Andriod and iOS. Past efforts from Tucker focused on creating simple and addictive casual games, but sMILES came about based on a personal resolution Tucker made to run everyday. Scott Tucker says that he realized he needed something to support his commitment, and so he began working on the soon to be released jogging app.

"The first thing I did was try all of the other jogging apps on the market," says Scott Tucker. "Unfortunately, none of them really worked for me and I lost some of the inspiration to track my stats, so I started writing some code and now I'm almost ready to release sMILES."

The new app from Tucker not only tracks statistics such as mileage and time, but also packages inspiration into the experience with inspiring quotes and tight integration to social networks. The app connects users with other people trying to achieve fitness goals and other users of the jogging app.Testing of sMILES has been underway for several months, with Tucker integrated feedback into each new version of the app. Feedback from beta users has helped Scott Tucker discover and polish the essential features of sMILES, while removing confusing and extraneous features that beta users did not find helpful.

Scott Tucker's new run tracking app, sMILES, is expected to be available for free download on the Google Play store in July of 2014, and will be financially supported by advertising and in-app purchases.
