TOKYO -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Spirent Communications, a leader in testing networks, services and devices, announced today that the Testing-as-a-Service (TaaS) capability of Spirent Avalanche Virtual was demonstrated for the first time within NTT Communications’ Enterprise Cloud and Cloudn platforms. The demonstration, coordinated by TOYO Corporation, Spirent’s exclusive partner in Japan, was showcased during Interop Tokyo 2014, June 11-13, where the offering received Best of Show special prize in the Cloud Service category.
Public and private cloud networks enable enterprises to leverage the cost savings and flexibility of virtualization. TaaS on a cloud platform helps IT teams validate that their cloud service provider is delivering high performance, secure services that meet the Quality of Service (QoS) levels and SLA requirements of the organization. Testing the cloud implementation from within helps to reduce the costs associated with downtime and to overcome the constraints of lab-based testing methodologies.
Spirent Avalanche Virtual’s TaaS offering supports the latest application traffic patterns including YouTube, chat and online games, as well as the typical traffic types such as HTTP, FTP and mail, giving users the flexibility to adjust performance testing according to their traffic volume and to make changes as they occur in the workloads.
Mr. Yosuke Seki, Vice President, Hosting Services, Cloud Services NTT Communications:
“We are deeply honored to be part of this world’s first demonstration. Our Enterprise Cloud and Cloudn are global cloud services that can be provided only by a carrier like NTT Com who has access to the robust and latest data centers, servers and networks. We are sure we can continue supplying reliable, safe and highly available cloud environment on the global scale to services offered by TOYO, a technology interface between Japan and the rest of the world.”
Angus Robertson, Vice President of Segment Marketing, Spirent Communications:
“Spirent Avalanche Virtual has significantly changed how users think about validating the performance and security of their cloud-based services. We are honored to have collaborated with NTT Communications and our partner TOYO on this cloud-based TaaS demonstration and we believe that the Best of Show Award is testimony to the leadership Spirent has established in testing cloud computing and virtualization platforms.”
