SAN ANTONIO -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Nancy Pratt, a healthcare industry veteran who previously held executive leadership roles at St. Joseph Health, Sharp HealthCare and CliniComp, Intl., has been named AirStrip® Chief Operating Officer (COO), the company announced today. “The impact of ACA and other economic forces is altering the operating dynamics of healthcare,” Dr. Patterson stated. “AirStrip continues to build new mobile consumer-centric models of innovation anchored around vertical integration throughout the continuum of care for each clinical condition or service line. This transformational model requires organizational alignment as well as deep understanding of clinical workflow and care coordination. We conducted a strong search for the right person to achieve this goal and are very pleased that Nancy is joining our team.”

An American Society of Quality Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, Pratt served most recently as Senior Vice President, Chief Quality and Safety Officer at St. Joseph Health. Pratt previously spent ten years as Senior Vice President – Clinical Effectiveness of Sharp HealthCare in San Diego, and led the initiative that resulted in Sharp HealthCare’s receiving the 2007 National Malcolm Baldrige Quality Award. Pratt is an experienced manager in cardiovascular care and trauma, with more than 20 years’ experience as a critical care nurse in a variety of settings. She also served as Vice President of Clinical Services at CliniComp, Intl., leading strategic, product and deployment initiatives.

“I experienced first-hand that only fundamental care pathway redesign and transformation will bring about the cost efficiency needed for health systems to survive and ultimately thrive – driving care to the most cost effective settings,” Pratt noted. “Along this journey, systems must also ensure the highest level of quality, clinical effectiveness, and patient safety. AirStrip is recognized throughout the industry as the creator of mobility and interoperability solutions that enable health systems to achieve these goals. As COO, I look forward to solidifying AirStrip as the partner of choice for those ready to embrace the next generation of healthcare innovation.”

In addition, Patterson announced that biotechnology veteran Gabriela Tobal has joined AirStrip in the new role of Director of Culture and Operational Excellence. With a background in research, business development, and venture capital, Tobal has established herself as a leader and driver of cultural and organizational growth.

“As a company that drives exceptional outcomes, AirStrip focuses not only on the product and commercial sides of the business, but also on our people,” Patterson said. “While Nancy Pratt brings tremendous depth to the way we will collaborate with our clients and partners around AirStrip’s value proposition of transforming healthcare, Gabriela will lead our ongoing alignment of culture, communication and processes to ensure that everyone at AirStrip contributes to his or her highest level of potential, and is personally and professionally fulfilled in doing so.”

Tobal worked with biotechnology firms in the San Diego area before receiving an MBA from the University of Maryland. She joins AirStrip from Amgen, where she held roles in business development and with Amgen Ventures, identifying promising investments in early-stage biotech companies.
