ATLANTA, July 2, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Participants at this year's Top Gun Mock Trial Competition faced numerous hurdles in their quest for first place which included a ten thousand dollar cash prize awarded by Baylor Law School. First, the competitors do not receive their case file until 24 hours before the competition begins. Second, they were required under this year's rules to incorporate either the Elmo or ExhibitView. All 16 teams chose ExhibitView(TM) 5.

Professor James Wren of Baylor had this to say, "When Baylor decided to fully integrate trial technology into the National Top Gun competition this year for the first time, we recognized we were pushing the boundaries of national mock trial competitions. After all 16 law schools in the competition elected to use the ExhibitView software which was offered to them, we were hoping that the simplicity of the ExhibitView program would encourage them to use its features during the trials despite the time pressures confronting them. We weren't disappointed."

Co-founder and partner Bill Roach expressed his thoughts on Top Gun, "This competition says a great deal about commitment. It tells me every lawyer in the country can quickly learn and leverage our software when they make that decision. These competitors had a choice and we were delighted they chose ExhibitView(TM) 5. It was amazing, fun, and inspiring to see what these young lawyers accomplished with ExhibitView(TM) 5. Jurors expect it, attorneys know they should be using it. I say welcome to the new age of courtroom technology."

Competitors were especially enthusiastic about ExhibitView. Scott Smith from Faulkner had this to say, "ExhibitView helped us take our case to the next level. Top Gun tasked us with presenting a case that had multiple types of media as exhibits--documents, video clips, audio recordings, and video depositions. ExhibitView enabled us to create a seamless presentation that kept the jury engaged and moved from exhibit to exhibit in seconds. The layout and user-friendly options of ExhibitView are second to none. I look forward to getting in the courtroom with this product again. Thank you ExhibitView!" Scott Smith, Faulkner Law, J.D. Candidate 2015.

ExhibitView also presented an award for best use in technology, voted by the judges, of 2 iPad minis. Yale University's team J.J. Snidow and second chair Ben Wallace won this award. "Ben was incredible with ExhibitView," says Roach. Ben Wallace added, "You've truly got a great product -- both JJ and I found it incredibly easy to use and incredibly effective in terms of jury presentation." Roach adds, "Many of the competitors kept asking me to come see them killing it with ExhibitView. Those were great moments for me after almost 10 years of hard work on our company and products."

This year's winner was Caroline Power from Temple's Beasley School of Law. Caroline and her second chair Victoria Miranda were also fully engaged using ExhibitView. Their coach, Sara Jacobson, Director of Trial Advocacy Programs and Associate Professor had this to say, "Thanks for all the technical support you gave her and us throughout the tournament. ExhibitView(TM) 5 definitely made our presentation more persuasive and your dedication to customer support is unmatched."

Final thoughts on Top Gun 2014 from Professor James Wren, "My colleagues here at Baylor, including our Dean, Brad Toben, and our Practice Court Director, Jerry Powell, agree that our decision to incorporate ExhibitView software into this year's National Top Gun competition was an overwhelming success."
