MENLO PARK, Calif. -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- MedtechWomen today announced that registration is now open for MedtechVision 2014, the fourth annual conference designed by and for women on the forefront of medical innovation. The conference will be held September 9, 2014, at the Rosewood Sand Hill in Menlo Park, Calif.
“The theme of this year’s conference – medtech in the digital age – reflects our commitment to confronting the most important drivers of change in the industry today,” said Amy Belt Raimundo, co-founder of MedtechWomen and vice president of Covidien Ventures. “At this year’s conference, we’ll explore the ways that digital is transforming medical care for patients, physicians and the industry as a whole – and how medtech can adapt and prosper.”
MedtechVision 2014 will feature keynotes from Lisa Maki, CEO of PokitDok, a website and app that lets consumers shop directly for health care providers in an open marketplace, which she co-founded after a frustrating patient experience following a serious spine injury, and Ilene Klein, MD, FAAFP, Chair, Qualcomm Life Advisory Council and Director of Global Employee Health Services for Qualcomm Incorporated. In addition, the event will host more than 20 distinguished panelists and speakers.
“The digital age poses many new challenges and opportunities for the medtech community,” said Deborah Kilpatrick, Ph.D., MedtechWomen co-founder and chief commercial officer of CardioDx. “We’re proud that previous MedtechVision conferences have set a precedent for discussions centered on real-world solutions, and we are looking forward this year to drawing out what is actionable and relevant to our industry as digital health advances.”
In addition to the two keynote addresses, leaders in the medtech industry will discuss the following topics:
