DENVER, CO -- (Marketwired) -- 07/31/14 -- They put their lives on the line every day -- sometimes in high-speed chases, gun battles with felons, or rescuing car crash victims trapped on the side of a mountain during a blizzard. It's the stuff of a superhero action movie, only it's for real: Colorado State Troopers in action.

This Friday, August 1 at 11am MTN time, Centennial-based Subsentio joins in honoring state troopers selected to receive the "Citizens Appreciate State Troopers" or "C.A.S.T." Award. Held in the Governor's Residence at the Boettcher Mansion, the event salutes Colorado State Troopers who have gone beyond the call of duty to preserve the law and protect public safety.

This year's Awards ceremony, hosted by C.A.S.T. Founder and Chairman Stephen Straight and keynoted by Colorado State Patrol Chief Scott Hernandez, honors the following four individuals:

  • Trooper Shane Gosnell - saved the life of fellow Trooper Gene Hofacker, attacked by a convicted killer armed with a semi-automatic weapon.
  • Trooper Joseph Mack - captured armed robbers following a 100mph car chase.
  • Technician Garth Crowther and State Trooper Brent Gilleland - during the blizzard of February 9, 2013, risked multiple trips down a steep 150-foot embankment at Cumbres/La Manga pass to save the life of a car crash victim with severe hypothermia.

Award presentations will be made by Subsentio's President Steve Bock and Chief Security Officer Ward Jackson.
