MILWAUKEE -- (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Actuant Corporation (NYSE:ATU) announced today that E. James (Jim) Ferland has been appointed to its Board of Directors, effective immediately. Mr. Ferland is President and Chief Executive Officer of The Babcock & Wilcox Company (NYSE:BWC), joining the Company in April 2012. Mr. Ferland is a seasoned executive with more than 23 years of experience in the commercial nuclear power and utility industry. Prior to Babcock & Wilcox, Mr. Ferland served as President of the Americas division at Westinghouse Electric Company, as well as President and Chief Executive Officer of Louisiana Energy Services. He holds a bachelor's degree in nuclear engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a master's in business administration from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
