CLEVELAND, OH -- (Marketwired) -- 08/19/14 -- OnShift, the leader in web-based staff scheduling and labor management software for long-term care and senior living, and MatrixCare, the industry-leading, certified Electronic Health Record (EHR) solution for long-term care and senior living providers, today announced the availability of integrated products that help providers rebalance costs more precisely to cover labor requirements on a resident-by-resident basis.
The OnShift-MatrixCare integration combines clinical and labor information for better coordination of care. The joint integration automatically captures information from MatrixCare, including census data by level of care such as RUG scores or resident acuity levels. OnShift uses this data to determine precise hours of care required and offers predictive information to suggest adjustments to staffing levels.
"RFMS is able to give our residents the high quality care that they deserve by determining staffing plans that take census and resident care needs into account," stated Brent Sharer, Director of Operational Finance, RFMS, Inc. "The new integration between OnShift and MatrixCare streamlines this process behind the scenes, so our facilities can easily make staffing adjustments based on the actual clinical needs of residents. We are able to meet our labor budgets and avoid dollars going out the door, while living up to our promise to provide the highest quality of care to our residents."
"Providing high quality care at the lowest cost possible is the ultimate goal for long-term and post-acute care providers. OnShift's integration with MatrixCare is a critical step in helping them achieve this objective, which is especially important in today's coordinated healthcare delivery models," stated Mark Woodka, CEO, OnShift. "Proper staffing is more than numbers. By accounting for resident acuity levels and census data, communities can staff more precisely and consistently, while controlling labor costs, their largest expense."
MatrixCare President and Chief Executive Officer John Damgaard commented, "The integration of MatrixCare and OnShift allows providers to gain better control of their largest expense, labor. In a regulatory environment where many factors are beyond a provider's control, we are excited to be working with OnShift to ultimately give some cost control back to the provider. This integration supports providers in calculating a total per-patient-day cost, which they must do to profitably participate in ACOs and bundled payment initiatives."
