COLUMBUS, Ohio, Aug. 25, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Insight School of Ohio (ISOH), a tuition-free online public school for Ohio students in grades 6 through 12, will begin the 2014-2015 academic year on August 27, 2014. The program will mark the start of its second year providing an individualized approach to learning. ISOH focuses on helping students who are struggling in their education due to a variety of factors, including learning or behavioral issues, bullying, or a lack of effective alternatives at a brick-and-mortar school.
ISOH uses the K¹² curriculum, combined with support from highly qualified, state-certified teachers, to offer students an exceptional learning experience and an individualized education that includes engaging web-based lessons and live online learning sessions. The online curriculum is bolstered by a Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) program, as well as a Family Support Team to help students achieve success both academically and personally.
"Our school has special strengths in helping students who are struggling in their education," said Amanda Conley, Head of School at Insight School of Ohio. "A struggling student may be one who has failed certain courses, is bored or turned-off by school, misses school days, feels unsafe at school, or perhaps has received suspensions or been left back. Our approach is not to judge students or families but to help them in ways that work."
ISOH teachers provide instruction, guidance and support, and regularly interact with students and parents via email, web-based classrooms, online discussions and phone conversations. Teachers also organize field trips and school activities where students have the opportunity to participate in events that blend academics and socialization.
Enrollment is still open for the ISOH 2014-2015 academic school year, and all interested families are encouraged to visit InsightOH.net for more information, as well as details on upcoming community events and online information sessions.
