Kintera Inc. (NASDAQ: KNTA) today announced that Kintera Connect partner, FreeCause, has created a social networking application that integrates Facebook with Kintera’s donor management system.
The software, called SnapCMS, is available today and enables the exchange of data between Kintera’s robust donor management system and an organization’s Facebook group. Additionally, FreeCause’s SnapCMS software enables nonprofits to manage content within a single application and then seamlessly publish it to popular social networking sites such as Facebook.
“SnapCMS is a cross-platform social networking solution that will save nonprofits time while enabling them to manage a coordinated brand presence on multiple social networking sites,” said Justin Holland, co-founder of FreeCause. “As additional social networking sites such as MySpace and Bebo release open platforms, FreeCause will continue to integrate them with SnapCMS. Thanks to our integration with Kintera, nonprofits are able to tap into the vast potential of these social networking platforms, cultivating relationships with new members and turning new members into passionate, engaged donors.”
SnapCMS is an out-of-the-box social networking solution that comes pre-integrated with Kintera’s platform. Nonprofit organizations including the Heart and Stroke Foundation that are using both SnapCMS and Kintera’s donor management system are able to quickly and easily attract new supporters to SnapCMS-powered Facebook applications where information on new supporters is captured and automatically stored in Kintera’s donor management system.
“Within a month of deploying SnapCMS integrated with Kintera we had 50,000 new members on our own Facebook application,” said Yaz Maziar, national web publisher for the Heart and Stroke Foundation. “One great thing about SnapCMS is that it is integrated with our Kintera donor management solution, so we have been able to increase our database and locate new supporters that we otherwise would not have discovered. FreeCause and Kintera have opened the possibilities of nonprofit technology and fundraising with this two-way integration.”
FreeCause, which specializes in social networking applications and other Web 2.0 fundraising tools for nonprofits, used Kintera Connect , the company’s open technology platform, to create the two-way integration between Facebook and Kintera.
