3Tera, Inc., the leading innovator of grid computing technology and utility computing services for web applications, today announced that it has chosen GlobalLogic, Inc., the leader in global product development, as a software development partner. In a period of strong growth and increasing demand for utility computing solutions, GlobalLogic will work with 3Tera to add new virtual appliances to the AppLogic™ catalog allowing Web 2.0 and SaaS business customers to roll out and easily scale new online services. A dedicated team of GlobalLogic’s software engineers working out of Ukraine will become a virtual extension of 3Tera’s integration team.
“GlobalLogic’s software development skill set is very compatible with 3Tera’s vision and market goals,” said Bert Armijo, Senior Vice President of Sales, Marketing and Product management at 3Tera. “The unique knowledge and vast experience in developing online products makes GlobalLogic a perfect fit to understand and deliver on the utility computing requirements our customers have. Partnering with GlobalLogic to gain access to their product development center in Ukraine, combined with our existing teams in Bulgaria, Israel and Northern California extends 3Tera’s already global development strategy.”
GlobalLogic’s 2,200 employees in the U.S., India, Ukraine and China focus solely on software product research and development for technology companies, not IT services. In addition to software development, GlobalLogic services include product testing and quality assurance, product analysis, conceptualization and realization, migration and porting, and product maintenance and support for software products. GlobalLogic’s distributed Agile development method and platform, GlobalLogic Velocity™, shrinks the software product development lifecycle and ensures that robust, high-quality product releases are delivered on time.
Peter Harrison, CEO of GlobalLogic, added, “We are happy to partner with 3Tera because they are pioneering a very exciting and fast growing sector that has the potential to greatly benefit many of our current technology clients. Time-to-market is a major concern for Web 2.0 companies and using utility computing to faster deploy and scale online products can deliver many benefits. I see this as a very promising and synergistic relationship with significant opportunities.”
