YouMail, Inc. (www.youmail.com), the mobile industry’s premier consumer voicemail service, today announced its selection as a 2008 Red Herring 100 Award winner, a recognition given to the top 100 private technology companies in North America.
YouMail provides consumers with a free, completely customizable cell phone voicemail service. Users can choose how they listen to their voicemail – in e-mail, on a visual voicemail interface on the web, or over the phone – whether they want transcriptions of the voicemail sent to them in e-mail or text messages. Red Herring’s editorial staff rigorously evaluated more than 1,500 private companies through a careful analysis of financial data and subjective criteria, including quality of management, execution of strategy, and dedication to research and development. Earlier this year the list was narrowed down to 200 finalists and then down to the final 100 winners, which were announced at the Red Herring North America 2008 event on May 13 in San Jose, Calif.
