BidShiftTM, the market leader in creating healthcare software solutions to address the national nursing crisis, announced today that Connie Thompson will join the BidShift team as regional manager for client relations.
Boasting an impressive resume in the healthcare industry, Thompson will work directly with hospitals and healthcare organizations on the East Coast to implement BidShift. She is a registered nurse and a former management consultant to a large healthcare system where she worked to solidify referral patterns and to improve the quality and availability of care. She also served as director of surgical services, as an operating room staff nurse and most recently, as a product manager for a Fortune 500 healthcare company.
"Connie will be a great asset to BidShift," said Bruce Springer, CEO and president. "She joins an experienced group of healthcare industry professionals, including team members that have served as chief nursing officers and nurse executives for prominent hospitals across the country. We have a team that understands the critical staffing needs of hospitals and they know how to implement shift bidding to best address the unique needs of each end user.
"Connie's experience in healthcare product management - from design to implementation - is a great complement to our overall capabilities and will benefit BidShift's customers tremendously."
With BidShift, hospitals create an internal registry system that allows qualified nurses and other clinical staff to view and "bid" for all available open shifts over a Web-enabled interface.
BidShift is offered as a delivered software service, which means that BidShift will manage the software, allowing for rapid deployment, low capital budget costs and little to no need for hospital IT resources. Healthcare providers can deploy the product in weeks and can choose from numerous tools and formats that work within their specific market situation and staffing structure.
"Many issues weigh heavily on the hearts of healthcare administrators today, not the least of which is remaining financially viable while continuing to provide safe, high-quality care in an environment that is treating increasing volumes of sicker patients with fewer essential care providers," said Thompson. "I've been in healthcare for 23 years and never have I seen a solution that is as immediately valuable as BidShift in helping healthcare administrators address these issues."
Seventeen hospitals across the country now use BidShift, including Sharp Healthcare in California and Clarian Health Partners in Indiana -- and many others are implementing the system. Each uses BidShift to optimize and recruit clinical staff, reduce the costs of filling open shifts by maximizing the opportunities for existing staff, decrease staff turnover through improved employee satisfaction, and increase the quality of patient care.
