International Program Spotlights the BRICs at the 2013 BIO
International Convention

With one-third of all attendees international, the 2013 BIO International Convention [2] will host a wide range of programming focused on new opportunities within emerging markets and strategies for growing the global biotech industry. Hosted by the Biotechnology Industry Organization (BIO), the Convention, celebrating its 20^th anniversary, will take place April 22-25, 2013 at McCormick Place in Chicago, Ill.

“Biotechnology innovation is an engine of economic growth. Many countries have thus made the development of a biotechnology sector an economic priority and have allocated significant resources into its development,” said BIO President & CEO Jim Greenwood. “We are pleased to see this reflected in our international audience whose participation is vital in presenting a global meeting for the biotech community.”

The emerging markets are becoming increasingly attractive as governments implement national strategies for biotechnology growth and development. The Spotlights on the BRICs program will be held Monday, April 22^nd and will highlight and explore the development strategies of the four BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) nations.
