Technology Leaders Join Valence Health to Drive Next Generation

Valence Health , a leading provider of clinical integration, population health and value-based care solutions, is pleased to announce the appointment of two industry veterans into leadership positions to drive the expansion of software solutions that already serve more than 30,000 physicians. Nathan Gunn, M.D.  joins Valence as President, Population Health, while Dan Blake  will serve as Senior Vice President of Software Product Development for the company.

As President of Population Health for Valence, Dr. Gunn will oversee a business unit with more than 125 employees who are dedicated to aggregating, standardizing and analyzing more than 100 million patient encounters each year. Valence’s Population Health  solutions help clients better manage clinical risk and improve quality across the care continuum. Valence solutions use real-time clinical and administrative data to drive relevant and credible provider-oriented analytics.
Prior to joining Valence, Dr. Gunn served as Chief Operating Officer of Verisk Health, where he was responsible for Verisk Health's unified business operations. Prior to that, Dr. Gunn served as Senior Vice President of Clinical Solutions at D2Hawkeye until its acquisition by Verisk. Dr. Gunn joined D2Hawkeye from McKinsey Company’s healthcare practice, where he served as a management consultant. Dr. Gunn completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of California in San Francisco and received his BA in Molecular Biology from UC Berkeley.

As Senior Vice President of Software Product Development, Dan Blake brings more than two decades of senior executive experience in the design and development of large scale, operationally complex, highly available software systems. In his role at Valence, Blake will oversee more than fifty engineers and architects. A veteran of agile development environments, Blake will also be responsible for overseeing the next generation of the company’s core Vision platform.
Blake comes to Valence directly from Airstrip Technologies, where he served as one of the company’s senior technical executives. While there, he oversaw the development of groundbreaking patented technology that has revolutionized medical device mobility. Blake has a history of growing technology products into more robust SaaS-based solution suites. Prior to Airstrip, he was the founder and President of ArchiStrat Consulting Inc. where he helped organizations maximize enterprise-wide operational efficiency and market penetration via web and mobile technologies. Earlier in his career, he served in executive positions at a wide-range of companies including: Aon, Andersen Consulting, Clark Oil, and McDonnell Douglas. Blake holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Computer Science and Business from Illinois State University.
