Tilana Systems Corporation (www.tilana.com [1]) today announced that it has begun private beta testing of its new Tilana Reserve file protection and synchronization service. As the first of a multi-phase beta program, this initial release makes use of a desktop software utility and personal data space at a remote storage facility in Dallas.

At the end of July the company announced its selection of The Planet Internet Services (www.theplanet.com [2]) as data center provider for the beta release of Tilana Reserve.

"We're happy with the results from our initial round of testing," said Derek Finley, Marketing Vice President for Tilana Systems Corporation. "This is one critical step in our carefully planned process of bringing Tilana Reserve to market."

Tilana breaks new ground and sets itself apart from a newly emerging crop of companies offering online file protection solutions by presenting a special mix of enterprise-level features and functionality to SMB and consumer markets. The new service offers CDP (continuous data protection) file protection to local cache and remote storage, robust version history access, and synchronization between multiple computers with a single account, all at a price point for small business and home PC users.

Tilana Reserve uses a desktop software client to securely transmit files between the user's protected PC and personal remote storage space. After the initial upload of protected files, the software sends only changes to files as they're saved, along with any new files as they appear in protected folders on the user's computer.

Changes to protected files are stored in the user's personal remote storage for as long as needed, and made immediately available through a version history palette in the desktop software control panel.

Users can choose to enable an unlimited number of computers with the free software, and synchronize files on those computers via their personal remote storage space.

The Tilana Reserve desktop software is a free download, installs in about a minute, and requires little if any configuration.

About Tilana Systems Corporation

San Diego-based Tilana Systems Corporation solves the universal problem of data protection and synchronization. Tilana's first product and service, Tilana Reserve, uses delta versioning technology that detects changes to files and only transfers modified data unobtrusively without user interaction. Users can access any previously saved version of a protected file, from any PC on the Internet where the software can be installed.
