BETHESDA, Md., Oct. 27, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ — SANS Institute, the global leader in information security training, today announced its final security training event of the year, SANS Cyber Defense Initiative (CDI) 2015. Taking place in Washington, D.C. December 12 – 19, this hands-on immersion style training will provide attendees access to SANS' newest courses.
"One of my favorite aspects of CDI is that it's a great way to close out the year, building new skills that can be applied throughout the New Year to make an organization more secure," said Ed Skoudis, SANS Fellow. "With the hands-on skills security professionals learn at CDI, they'll be ready to really make a difference in the security of their organization immediately after returning from the training."

Attendees will learn how the newest cyber attacks work and what can be done to prevent them or mitigate the damage. They will also learn about the latest tools, and how to use them for finding, blocking and deciphering hacking attacks.

-- SEC550: Active Defense, Offensive Countermeasures and Cyber Deception is built from the ground up for defenders to quickly implement Active Defenses in their environments. -- MGT514: IT Security Strategic Planning, Policy and Leadership addresses the growing need for next generation IT security leaders and offers actionable steps for how to become one. -- ICS515: ICS Active Defense and Incident Response will empower students with the ability to understand their networked industrial control system (ICS) environment, monitor it for threats, perform incident response against identified threats, and learn from interactions with the adversary to enhance network security. -- FOR578: Cyber Threat Intelligence will train security professionals and teams to detect, scope, and select resilient courses of action in response to such intrusions and data breaches.
